About the event
Long-term care facilities must "have a plan to ensure residents can exercise their right to vote, whether in-person, by mail, absentee or other authorized process," according to guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Join us on August 13th as Laura Williams, National Training Coordinator with the Center for Vulnerable Voters, provides voter information, guidance and resources specific to long-term care residents. Learn about YOUR responsibility to not only assist, but to protect vulnerable voters during this election year!
This course will provide guidance on navigating the election process for North Carolina citizens living in residential communities. Interactive Session Objectives:
1. Identify three facility vulnerabilities, along with the correlating policy and/or procedures for implementation.
2. Describe how to facilitate recommended best practice for residential voting.
3. Identify two avenues to educate and involve family members regarding residential voting.
